On 21 October 2025, a delegation of more than 70 international law experts, including United Nations officials, international law professors, and international lawyers from over 20 countries and regions, visited the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). They toured the SCIA Tower, the international headquarters of SCIA, located in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
The experts learned in detail about the innovative development of international arbitration in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone over the past four decades since China's reform and opening-up. They were briefed on SCIA's internationalized governance structure, panel of arbitrators, and the institutional innovations of its "Two Cities, Two Institutions" mechanisms. They also toured the hearing facilities and conducted on-site research on the important role of Chinese international arbitration in serving the global economy and trade.
The visit was jointly organized by the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the Institute of Law of CASS, and SCIA. Mo Jihong, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Director of CASS Institute of Law; Liu Huawen, the Deputy Director of Institute of International Law, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Liu Xiaochun, President of the SCIA; Fan Wenjing, Director of General Department (Secretariat of the Council) of the SCIA; and other relevant experts and researchers from CASS participated in this event.
