On January 17, 2013, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) East Asia Branch jointly held a seminar at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), focusing on the theme of "Doing Business in the PRC: Risk, Precautions & Dispute Resolution Options".

Over 100 legal professionals, including lawyers and in-house counsels from domestic and overseas  attended the seminar. They engaged in extensive discussions and exchanges on potential legal risks that Hong Kong and multinational enterprises may face when investing and doing business in the Chinese mainland, how to prevent such risks, and how international arbitration institutions resolve international commercial disputes in the Chinese mainland.

Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Liu Xiaochun, Secretary-General of the SCIA; Kwai Huen Wong, Council Member of the SCIA and the Chairman of HKIAC; Yeung Man Sing, Chairman of the CIArb East Asia Branch and Richard Leung, Vice-chairman of the CIArb East Asia Branch, delivered professional speeches. This joint seminar received support from 13 organizations, including the HKIAC, the Hong Kong Bar Association, the Law Society of Hong Kong, the Commercial Affairs Mediation Committee of the China Company Association, the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, South China Business & Law Forum, Australia CPA and Australia AIB.
