On Feb 11, the 10th Meeting of the 3rd Council of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (also known as the Greater Bay Area International Arbitration Center and the South China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, hereinafter referred to as the "SCIA") was held at the SCIA Tower in Qianhai, Shenzhen.
The meeting discussed and reviewed various topics such as the SCIA annual work report, the annual financial budget and final accounts report, the new penal of arbitrators and arbitration rules innovations.
The council meeting recognized that SCIA has adhered to a party autonomy approach, aimed at building a world-class arbitration institution and further comprehensively deepening the reforms. It has achieved new breakthroughs in business scale, international influence and competitiveness, fulfilling the annual development goals set by the Council. The meeting pointed out that SCIA still faces many new changes and challenges. It should continue to deepen the reform of statutory body, adhere to the path of internationalization and specialization, and strengthen cooperation with Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR. Efforts should be made to enhance the innovation of arbitration rules, foster professional talent, and the development of AI arbitration, striving to build a world-class arbitration institution with greater international credibility and global influence.
