The 2025 International Arbitration Survey, titled "The Path Forward: Realities and Opportunities in Arbitration", has recognized Shenzhen as one of the most preferred arbitration seats globally for the first time. This survey, jointly conducted by White & Case LLP and the School of International Arbitration at Queen Mary University of London, also listed the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) Arbitration Rules among the most preferred arbitration rules worldwide.
Shenzhen Ranks Among Top Arbitration Seats in Asia-Pacific
According to the survey, respondents from the Asia-Pacific region have identified Shenzhen as one of the five most preferred seats of arbitration globally, alongside Hong Kong, Singapore, London, and Beijing. This recognition highlights Shenzhen's growing importance in the international arbitration landscape.
SCIA Arbitration Rules Win Global Recognition
The SCIA Arbitration Rules have been listed among the ten most preferred arbitration rules worldwide, joining the rules from renowned international institutions including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) and others.
Strong Preference for SCIA Arbitration Rules in the Asia-Pacific Region
The survey reveals that among respondents from the Asia-Pacific region, the SCIA Arbitration Rules rank in the top five most preferred arbitration rules at 17%, alongside those of HKIAC (74%), ICC (28%), SIAC (32%), and others.
