China (Kashi) – Central and South Asia Forum on Rule of Law (2025) Convened in Kashi

On 30 October 2025, the China (Kashi) – Central and South Asia Forum on Rule of Law (2025) was held in Kashi, Xinjiang. Focusing on the theme "Deepening Legal Cooperation to Support High-Quality Belt and Road Development", the Forum was hosted by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Law Society, the Guangdong Law Society, the China Legal Exchange Center, organized by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) Kashi Center and others. Representatives from eleven Central and South Asian countries attended the event.

At the plenary session, Liu Xiaochun, President of the SCIA, delivered a keynote speech titled "What Kind of International Arbitration Does the Belt and Road Need". Drawing on the experience of the SCIA, he outlined China's approach to boosting international arbitration credibility and expressed his hope to collaborate with legal and business sectors in Central and South Asia and beyond. The goal is to co-build a globally credible international arbitration system based on the principles of joint development, consultation, governance and shared benefits—one that connects the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, civil and common law traditions, East and West, as well as the present and future.

During the cooperation signing session, An Xin, Vice President of SCIA, signed the Cooperation Agreement on International Commercial Diversified Dispute Resolution with the Kovise Foundation Conflict Resolution International (KFCRI) of India on behalf of SCIA, further deepening international arbitration cooperation between China and South Asian countries.
