On 22 March 2026, the first "Roundtable of Deans of Law Schools in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" was held in Qianhai, Shenzhen, organized by the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), the South China International Arbitration Center (Hong Kong) (SCIAHK), and the China International Arbitration Academy. The roundtable brought together deans and representatives from 16 renowned law schools. The SCIA Council members, including Shen Sibao, Anthony Neoh SC, Liu Xiaochun, Sir William Blair, Peter Malanczuk, Wang Guixun, and Huang Yaying, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
Participants held discussions on legal talent training in the Greater Bay Area and the development of international arbitration hubs. Leveraging the region's unique cross-jurisdictional advantages, they adopted the GBA Shenzhen Consensus, which focuses on further deepening legal education cooperation, innovating legal talent development mechanisms, and strengthening the integration of theoretical research and professional practice. The consensus is expected to foster closer cooperation, enhance the legal ecosystem of the Greater Bay Area, and help nurture more high-caliber international legal professionals.
