From 23 March to 27 March 2026, the 70th session of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group IV (Electronic Commerce) was held in New York, the United States. The session continued its deliberation on the Model Legislative Provisions on Contracts for the Provision of Data. As an observer to UNCITRAL Working Group IV, the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) was invited to the session and fielded a delegation led by its General Counsel, Xie Weimin.
During the session, Xie proposed amendments to certain provisions based on the practical experiences of data transactions among enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and SCIA's handling of data-related disputes. He also exchanged views with Anna Joubin-Bret, Secretary of UNCITRAL, and members of the Chinese delegation, as well as representatives from other countries and institutions.

During a break from the session, Xie visited the New York office of Judicial Arbitration and Mediation Services, Inc (JAMS). The two sides took stock of their past cooperation in dispute resolution and exchanged views on further strengthening collaboration.
