From 25 to 26 August 2026, a delegation from the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) and the South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIAHK) visited Kazakhstan to advance international arbitration cooperation under the "Belt and Road" Initiative.

The delegation participated in the "Collaborate 2Win" seminar in Almaty on 25 August, organized by the Department of Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong SAR. Paul Lam, Secretary for Justice of the Hong Kong SAR, delivered the opening remarks.

The delegation delivered presentations on topics including the internationalization efforts of the "Two Cities, Two Institutions" framework across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Xinjiang, and Central Asia, as well as innovative practices in dispute-resolution services and cross-border coordination.

During the event, SCIAHK signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the M100 Joint Overseas Expansion Platform. The two parties are set to collaborate on global network and brand building, as well as on jointly organizing international arbitration training programs.

During their visit to Kazakhstan, the delegation also met with a number of Chinese-invested enterprises operating in the country, as well as local businesses, trade associations, and law firms. They convened special symposia to engage in in-depth discussions on investment risks, opportunities, and dispute resolution in Central Asian trade and investment.

The delegation was represented by Li Xiongfeng, Deputy Director of the SCIA Research Department and Secretary-General of the SCIAHK, and Meng Wei, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation and Development Department of the SCIA and Deputy Director of the SCIA Kashi Center.
