From 25 to 28 August 2026, as a supporting organization of Singapore Convention Week (SC Week) 2026, the delegation of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA) and the South China International Arbitration Center (HK) (SCIAHK) visited Singapore to participate in SC Week and host a series of seminars and exchange activities.
The delegation was invited to attend the SC Week Welcome Reception on 25 August. SCIA Council Chairman Shen Sibao, SCIA Council Member and SCIAHK Board Director Peter Malanczuk, SCIA Council Member Huang Yaying, and SCIA Vice President An Xin led the delegation to meet and exchange views with Singapore's Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs, Edwin Tong.
On 27 August, SCIA and SCIAHK co-hosted a thematic event titled "Dual-Jurisdiction Dialogue: Rules Practice and Technological Innovation in China-Singapore International Arbitration", focusing on discussions and sharing on topics such as rule innovations and practical differences in international commercial arbitration, artificial intelligence applications and technological empowerment in the digital economy era, risk prevention and dispute resolution in the international operations of enterprises, as well as the latest practices and future developments of international arbitration in China and Singapore.
The event received special support from WongPartnership LLP and co-support from Rajah & Tann LLP, King & Wood Mallesons, Fangda Partners, Hui Zhong Law Firm, Han Kun Law Offices, and Jincheng Tongda & Neal Law Firm. Over 120 legal and business professionals from 17 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong SAR, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, participated in the exchanges.

SCIA Council Member and SCIAHK Board Director Peter Malanczuk delivered a keynote speech titled "Who Decides the Case? Artificial Intelligence and the Enforcement of Arbitral Awards in the Context of the New York Convention".
The first panel discussion was moderated by Chen Zhou, Deputy Legal Counsel of the International Cooperation and Development Department of the SCIA. The panelists included Hee Theng Fong, Independent Arbitrator and Mediator, and SCIA Arbitrator; Ng Jern-Fei KC, King's Counsel, Barrister at Duxton Hill Chambers (Singapore), SCIA Arbitrator, and SCIA Singapore Chief Representative; Chan Hock Keng, Partner at WongPartnership LLP and SCIA Arbitrator; Qi Yuan, Partner at King & Wood Mallesons (Shenzhen/Singapore) and SCIA Arbitrator; Constance Zhao, Partner at Fangda Partners (Singapore); and Joe Zhou, Vice President and General Counsel of China International Capital Corporation, and SCIA Arbitrator. The discussion centered on "China-Singapore International Arbitration Dialogue: Rule Innovations and Practical Comparisons".

The discussion centered on "China-Singapore International Arbitration Dialogue: Technology Empowerment and Smart Arbitration".

During their visit to Singapore, the delegation also visited a number of Chinese-funded enterprises based in Singapore and local law firms, holding symposiums focusing on risk prevention and dispute resolution for "going-global" enterprises. They gained in-depth insights into the risks these enterprises face and jointly explored new approaches and mechanisms to resolve cross-border disputes.
SC Week was first launched in 2019 and is hosted annually by the Singapore Ministry of Law. Centered around the Singapore Convention on Mediation, it features a series of academic and practical seminars on multi-party dispute resolution. It has now become a key annual event in the international dispute resolution field, bringing together global legal experts, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss cutting-edge trends and innovative practices in arbitration, mediation, litigation, and other dispute resolution areas, providing a broad platform for exploring institutional innovation, driving systemic change, and enhancing exchanges and cooperation.
This year's SC Week was co-hosted by the Singapore Ministry of Law and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), along with several other international dispute resolution institutions, under the theme "Timeless Principles, Timely Solutions: Nurturing Trust in a Changing World".
The event marked the bicentennial of Singapore's modern legal system (SGLaw200) and the 60th anniversary of UNCITRAL, carrying special commemorative significance.
